3. 1930s

   The Gran Oriente Filipino lodge, the most prominent Filipino fraternal organisation of the 1930s, met here from that decade until after the Second World War. Fire insurance maps show the building as a Knights of Pythias hall in 1913 and as the Cathay American Legion Post in 1948; it now houses the Chinese Baptist Church.
