   The hotel here was nearing completion for opening at the new year: six storeys and basement of brick and steel with a French Renaissance front in white and red, 78 suites each with a dressing room, bath and a disappearing bed, mahogany panelling, a gymnasium and plunge in the basement and a glass-roofed solarium, the first in the city.
