The 54-by-109-foot site between Kearny and Montgomery held the old Armed Forces Police Station, declared surplus by the Federal government; hotels stood on the adjoining properties. The City Planning Commission unanimously reported that city acquisition of the former military police station for a Health Department methadone clinic conformed to the Master Plan.
