   Built.

2. 1904–1905

   Built for the Columbus Savings and Loan Society — the city's first Italian bank, founded by John F. Fugazi out of his travel agency — to designs by Meyer & O'Brien, on the site of two old buildings at the northeast corner of Washington and Montgomery. The bank moved here in anger: A. P. Giannini, who had quit its board to found the Bank of Italy next door, had taken the lease on the whole Drexler Building where the Columbus rented, making himself its landlord. It is the oldest of the city's Italian bank buildings and one of the few buildings by Meyer & O'Brien older than the 1906 fire.

3. 1906

   The bank survived the fire because the Montgomery Block across Washington Street was saved, and soldiers dynamited the buildings on the south side of Washington as a firebreak; everything on the west side of Montgomery burned, but the east side — now Jackson Square — was spared.

4. 1923–1929

   The Columbus Savings and Loan stayed here until it merged with the Italian-American Bank, which merged in turn with the Bank of Italy in 1927; the building was then for two years the Bank of Italy's Columbus Branch.

5. 1939–1953

   The Pisani Printing and Publishing Company had the ground floor.

   The upper floor held attorneys, importers and, in turn, the Italian and the Indonesian consulates.
