Two flats on a single parcel carrying both 636 and 638, a block south of Haight Street. A published guide to notable residences records Charles Manson and members of his group as living here during 1967.

Seven permits, 1994–2018. The 1996 pair is the sequence worth reading in order: the front parapet came off in April as an emergency falling hazard, and the permit filed a month later to repair and reinforce it expired unacted on.
