The cafeteria and gymnasium wing at the north end of the Horace Mann campus was built with Public Works Administration money released in 1938. John Bakewell Jr. designed it and Eaton & Smith built it in 1939 for $151,291, matching the hipped roof, cement-plaster quoining and arched windows of the 1923 academic building. The interior is Spanish Colonial Revival with Art Deco work.
