3. 1917

   The church of the Second Church of Christ, Scientist was built here in 1917 to the design of William H. Crim Jr.: two and a half storeys of unreinforced masonry, almost nine thousand square feet. A 1993 survey gave it National Register status code 3S — eligible as an individual property — but it fell under the city's 1992 unreinforced masonry ordinance and the congregation applied to demolish it.
