1. 1966

   FeBe's leather bar opened here in 1966 and made Folsom Street the anchor of the city's leather scene; it displayed a sculpture by artist Mike Caffee recasting Michelangelo's David in motorcycle garb, and by the late 1970s hosted the Mr. SF Leather contest that became the International Mr. Leather competition.
