An apartment building that stood on the lot was destroyed by fire and later demolished.

The parcel was then a vacant, flat lot 50 feet wide and 245 feet deep running through from Mission Street to Capp Street. The City Planning Commission, on discretionary review, disapproved a building permit for an automobile service station with a mechanical car wash on the vacant lot.
