1269 Hyde Street

1. 1906

   Third Baptist Church, which had begun on Dupont Street near Union, relocated here in 1906 and stayed until it built its own church on McAllister Street in the 1950s.

2. 1908

   Third Baptist Church built a Tudor-inspired church here, having lost its Bush and Powell Streets building in the earthquake and fire two years earlier; the congregation stayed until 1952.

   A. D. Stafford contracted to put up a two-storey church for the First Colored Baptist church, at $18,350.
