December 1875
University Mound College, a Presbyterian boarding school for boys, put up a three-storey wood-frame Second Empire building here after its first college building burned earlier that year; it cost over $50,000 and the third floor was left unfinished.

University Mound College, whose wood-frame building then stood here, ran out of money and closed, and the building was put up for auction.

May 1884
The trustees of the newly incorporated Lick Old Ladies' Home, founded with a $100,000 bequest from James Lick, bought 25 acres of the University Mound tract and the former college building that then stood here, for $30,000.

1896
The trustees applied to rename the Lick Old Ladies' Home, then housed in the old college building on this site, the University Mound Old Ladies' Home, hoping a more general name would attract charitable bequests while the institution was in financial distress.

1913
After years of being unable to take in anyone new for lack of funds, the Home, still in the old wood-frame college building here, began admitting new residents again, advertising board for elderly women at $30 a month.

October 22, 1925
An application for a state licence to operate the Home was submitted, but the licensing board took no action because the old wood-frame building then standing here was considered unsafe in case of fire.

July 15, 1931
A building permit was filed for the present three-storey reinforced-concrete and brick home, replacing the old wood-frame building that state licensers had judged a fire risk.

Fire-escape stairways were added to the front of the south wing, with a window and bulkhead replaced by multi-pane French doors.

August 19, 1963
A permit was filed to add the building's first elevator, in a new shaft at the southeast corner of the main building, with an elevator penthouse on the roof.

A sun deck was built at the southwest corner of the building; it was covered and enclosed in 1989.

The Home was sold to AgeSong Genesis LLC, an assisted-living provider, which began remodelling communal bathrooms and replacing original living-room, dining-room and chapel light fixtures in 2015.
