1. 1933

   The Jewish Community Center built here in 1933, a privately funded building in the PWA Moderne style. It was demolished in 2000.

   The City Planning Commission unanimously upheld the negative declaration for 143 units of housing for the elderly over shops and an addition to the Jewish Community Center on the block, asking for more on traffic, design, saving buildings and relocating their occupants before the permit (Resolution 7821).
