Income flats, hard to place stylistically: medieval-looking wooden corbelling tops the rectangular bay window, and a classical pediment over the entrance has since given way to a pent roof. The shingled front may be original or an early alteration.

The author Gelett Burgess rented the flat at 1212 Lombard from 1902 to 1904, the years he published The Reign of Queen Isyl and The Picaroons, both with Will Irwin. Of his several San Francisco homes this is the only one still standing.
