Shreve & Company Factory

1. 1912

   Built as the Shreve & Co. Factory, an excellent example of a large-scale industrial loft with Classical Revival ornamentation. It was put forward for San Francisco Landmark designation.

   Healy-Tibbitts Construction company contracted for clearing, excavating, piling, etc on a four-storey class B reinforced concrete building, then going up, at $10,600.

4. November 9, 1912

   Under construction for Shreve & Co.: a four-storey fireproof concrete factory faced in glazed brick, with very large windows, finished inside like an office building.

5. February 1, 1913

   The Hibernia Bank lent Shreve & Co. $30,000 to complete the factory. Site as recorded: The south corner of Bryant and Zoe streets.
