Sunset District Residential Builders Historic Context Statement (2013)

Laid out on Oliver Rousseau's Patio Plan, the top-storey open-air courtyard he introduced in 1932 to bring light and air into the middle of a house hemmed in on both sides. Three sets of French doors open onto it; the patio here was later roofed with a skylight. The plan was widely copied by competing builders. No completion year is recorded for this house; the firm's Sunset District work ran from 1931 to 1933.
