A two-storey house in the Shingle style — shingles wrapped round the corners into one continuous surface, the interest carried by curved dormers and flared eaves rather than by ornament. It is the oldest known house in the Oceanside, bar a Stick-Eastlake cottage further along 48th Avenue that was moved onto its lot in 1924.

A water tower stands on the lot, left from the years before the mains reached this end of the Sunset and households drew on their own wells.

Remove & replace existing cedar shingles (on walls all 4 sides) on existing storage structure @ rear yard. all work to be in-kind. patch & repair roof.
Not yet documented: the architect and builder, the early residents and the date of the last recorded sale. The Oceanside context statement dates the building here to 1901; the assessor dates the building on this parcel to 1900. Submit an update
