1. August 24, 1912

   The 55 by 87 ft 6 in corner lot was sold for close to $60,000, with a six-storey steel-frame Class C hotel of 80 rooms, each with a private bath, to be put up on it at once.

2. 1913

   Built as the Hotel Mentone, mid-priced hotel with 80 rooms and 80 baths, to the design of the architects Smith and Stewart. Six storeys over a basement, steel frame structure with Flemish bond brick, two-part vertical composition, Renaissance/Baroque ornamentation.

3. February 15, 1913

   Well under way for the Board Realty Company and due in five months: three stores and a large lobby on the ground floor, a steel frame faced in light pressed brick, at over $71,000. Site as recorded: The southeast corner of Ellis and Jones streets.
