Recorded in the city's survey of the Van Ness Avenue automobile corridor as built for use as an auto accessories store. Designed by W. L. Schmolle for Chanslor and Lyon's wholesale automobile supplies and tire store, which the San Francisco Examiner called the largest on the Pacific Coast given over entirely to automotive equipment. Tan and buff brick, with shields lettered C&L for the first occupant.
