    Visitacion Valley Elementary School was rebuilt here in reinforced concrete for $250,000 with Public Works Administration funding, replacing the wood-frame schoolhouse of 1911. G. Albert Lansburgh and Hyman & Appleton designed it in the PWA Moderne style with terra cotta ornament: academic building 1935, auditorium 1937, kindergarten building 1939.
