A newly built house stood on the lot at a curve of Edgehill Way, with an eight-foot solid wall on its north side; before construction began about two years earlier the lot had been a tree-covered hill. The City Planning Commission, by a 3-2 vote and against its staff's advice, found in conformity with the Master Plan a revocable permit for a house's courtyard, wall screen and stairway to extend about 125 square feet into the public right-of-way of Edgehill Way.
