The Pacific Dairy was one of four dairies still working in Eureka Valley in the mid-1880s, alongside one at 17th and Douglass streets, one at Diamond and 18th with a horse corral opposite the cattle yard, and a milk ranch on 19th Street between Douglass and Eureka. Most of the dairy operations were gone by 1900 as land became more valuable for building than for animal production.
