381–395 Hayes Street

1. April 18, 1906

   The “Ham and Eggs Fire” started in a house at 395 Hayes Street when a blocked chimney sent gas flames from a stove into the wall. It destroyed a large part of Hayes Valley and burned up to the eastern edge of Duboce Triangle before it was put out.
