The T-shaped neoclassical building on the north-west corner of Post and Scott Streets, on the Mount Zion hospital campus, opened as a hospital, designed by J. E. Kraftt & Sons Architects and clad in light brick, with arched recessed portals flanked by stucco pilasters. A morgue was added shortly after it opened.
