  1. June 25, 1961

Construction of the Holy Virgin Joy of All Who Sorrow Cathedral began on 25 June 1961 to the design of émigré architect Oleg Ivanitsky. The five-domed exterior was largely complete in 1964; interior frescoes were painted between 1968 and 1974 by Archimandrite Kiprian of Jordanville Monastery with four assistants from the local Russian community, and he also designed the iconostasis. The exterior was repainted red and white in 2015 to a scheme by Andrew Gould.
