Recorded in the city's survey of the Van Ness Avenue automobile corridor as built for use as a public garage. Designed by the O'Brien Brothers, the most prolific designers of public garages in San Francisco. One story over a basement, with a ramp descending rather than rising, and a capacity of 125 cars on the Sanborn maps. It keeps its wood-framed windows, including those in the monumental arch. The Jackson Garage, a public garage for 31 years.
