180–194 Turk Street

1. 1925

   Built as the Hotel Governor, mid-priced hotel with 145 rooms and 134 baths, to the design of the architect Creston H. Jensen. Ten storeys over a basement, reinforced concrete structure with stucco facade, three-part vertical composition, mix of Gothic and Renaissance/Baroque ornamentation.

   The Club Turkish Baths operated in this building from at least the 1950s, becoming the Bulldog Baths in 1979 when the interior was redecorated with two tiers of jail cells and a garage-themed room.
