550–590 Van Ness Avenue
Recorded in the city's survey of the Van Ness Avenue automobile corridor as built for use as an auto showroom. The survey dates the work to 1908–1909. Designed by Frederick H. Meyer, and first numbered 583 Golden Gate Avenue — it stood at the corner of the city's first auto row, and in 1913 it held the Standard Motor Car Company. It is the one early Golden Gate Avenue auto showroom still standing with good integrity, its brick walls and cornice essentially unchanged. The first cars sold here were Ford and Velie — the oldest auto showroom in the city.
