1820 Eddy Street

1. 1854

   Built in 1854 as St. Patrick's parish church on the south side of Market Street at Annie Street, between Second and Third, on ground the Palace Hotel later covered — now the oldest frame church standing in the city.

   Moved to Eddy Street between Laguna and Octavia, as the church of St. John the Baptist parish.

   Moved again, to this site, as the church of Holy Cross parish until 1899 and its parish hall afterwards. Between 1885 and 1891 it had also served as the pro-cathedral while St. Mary's on Van Ness was built.
