The Raphael Weill School, which with Pacific Heights Elementary served most of the children of the Japantown area, and whose multi-ethnic intake led Dorothea Lange to call this 'the so-called international district'. It is now Rosa Parks Elementary.

One of the places the city's Japanese community was ordered to report to in 1942, and the point from which the last busloads of Japanese Americans left San Francisco. Dorothea Lange photographed the school's Japanese American pupils days before their families were removed.
