4700–4704 Third Street

Built as a large Italianate commercial block on Railroad Avenue, as Third Street was then named — a store, restaurant or saloon at street level with flats above, chamfered bay windows and a bracketed cornice. It is among the better-preserved Victorian-era commercial buildings in the Town Center, and among the mixed-use buildings on Third Street that survive from the 1899–1900 Sanborn era.

Security/building inspection & plumbing compliance.

Replace existing stair to storage area with new stair and handrails. replace several joists in kind to address rest damage to satisfy nov#200563157 (stairs) all work to be within commercial area.

Excavate as required to provide head rm at stair per struct plan revision to permit application 200512130159, incl footing & framing.

Remove 6'x12'north facing advertising wall sign per nov 10054. comp 200563157/ces.

To comply with nov 201296933. legalize existing 8' fence and entry gates to existing parking area. also to legalize door to adjacent building east side. note: parking area approved under app#8714508.

Move 1627 newcomb ave. from lot 27 to lot 26 (commercial). add 4700 3rd st to lot 26 (commercial).

Repair damaged siding panels and paint. visible & 10ft x 50ft wood horizontal siding.

If necessary, remove 5 windows at rear of building. waterproof openings, replace some windows in some openings. not street facing.

Remove and reinstall 10 existing windows if necessary for siding repair purpose. stree facing windows.

To comply with nov 202178501. replace 24 windows with original wood ogee window.

Per public works parcel map, changed/moved addresses 4700, 4702, 4704, 4706 03rd st, and 1627 newcomb ave from apn 5311/026 to apn 5311/039.

Rear building/storage shed: rebuild fire damaged west wall involving demolition, new structural supports, patching, waterproofing, painting, repair/patch roof to comply with nov 202542053.
