5024–5030 Third Street

1. 1923

   One of the two most ambitious masonry mixed-use buildings of the 1920s boom on Third Street, with 5172–74: three storeys clad in yellow brick, with extruded sheet-metal-clad bay windows, a bracketed cornice, two storefronts at street level and two levels of apartments above. Both stand at the southern edge of the commercial district, where lots large enough for such footprints were still to be had.
