The Norwegian-born ship builder Ingeborg Jorgenson built the bungalow for a daughter and her husband, the shipwright Fred Siemer of the yard Siemer & Bruer & Co. The house held one of the oldest boat-building families of India Basin, on a lot generous enough to recall the semi-rural conditions that once prevailed at Hunters Point.
