Corbett Avenue

The spine of Corbett Heights, climbing from Market Street toward Twin Peaks. The lower numbers sit in the Park Lane Tract, laid out in 1885; the upper slopes were still being filled in after the Second World War.

  Post-war infill of 1953, on a lot created by dividing the old Cassin parcel at Ord and Corbett.
• 123–125 Corbett Avenue
  A 1937 Spanish Mediterranean house, built for $4,000 by the contractor Arthur Quinn with no architect.
• 127 Corbett Avenue
  Its neighbour, permitted four months earlier at $4,500 for the musician Jack Schubel.
• 301–303 Corbett Avenue
  A year old when the earthquake came; it stands above the 1906 refugee camp in the photograph of it.
• 328 Corbett Avenue
  On the skyline in the 1906 photograph, and on the hill in a 1909 view of a corner that no longer exists.

  Caught mid-construction in 1909, its pyramid roof up and nothing else finished.
