    Jonathan Kittredge, owner of the Phoenix Iron Works, built a two-and-a-half-storey gabled Carpenter Gothic house on the north side of Ellis Street between Powell and Mason for his Christmas Eve marriage. The homestead included an artesian well, a small backyard orchard and a cow.
