One Ecker Square

Perini Land & Development built the tower on speculation in 1982–83. The state historic-resource form records a hybrid of Corporate Modern and Brutalist manner, and reads the two-storey, south-facing open-air atrium as a response to the city's 1971 Urban Design Plan — the thinking that produced the open-space requirement this page's garden satisfies.

Not yet documented: the developer, the early tenants, who designed the open space and the date of the last recorded sale. The SF Planning Department's own historic-resource survey lists the assessor's date as 1982, but its descriptive text states the building was "completed in 1983" and "constructed in 1982-83."
