   The A. Borel & Co. Building, which stood at 440 Montgomery until its front was taken into the tower on this site: a Corinthian bank front only 27½ feet wide, commissioned by the Swiss-born banker Antoine Borel from Albert Pissis for the firm his brother Alfred had founded in 1863, which dealt mainly in investments.
