Recorded in the city's survey of the Van Ness Avenue automobile corridor as built for use as a battery and repair shop. Built for the Pacific Coast branch of the Electric Storage Battery Company of Philadelphia, makers of Exide batteries. It is notable for a band of wooden windows divided by mullions and muntins into many lights. Exide batteries were sold here from 1916 to 1926 by the Philadelphia battery maker whose Pacific Coast branch this was; the branch then moved out to the Bayview.
