1. June 17, 1909

   I. D. Bluxome and Pacific rolling mill company contracted for the concrete foundations, basement walls, sidewalk arches, floors, roof slabs, fireproofing and steel work of the Anglo and London Paris National Bank's two-storey and basement building on this corner, part of whose walls the present tower retained.

2. 1912

   The Holbrook Building stood here from 1912 until the tower replaced it — seven storeys over a basement around a central lightwell, a steel skeleton with reinforced concrete walls and floors, composed as a three-part vertical block to the design of MacDonald and Applegarth.

   The Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board recommended city landmark status and the Planning Commission agreed on 4 January 1979, but the Board of Supervisors refused the designation on 2 April 1979.

The 2025 assessor's roll dates this parcel 1983, which is the tower that replaced the building described.

Albert Pissis's Anglo and London Paris National Bank of 1910 stands within the tower, its granite front carrying 38-foot Doric columns; its banking hall is the atrium the public open space occupies. The bronze Star Maiden in it is a 1985 cast of a figure Alexander Stirling Calder made for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, commissioned with the permission of the sculptor's daughter Margaret Calder Hayes.
